Hi, I recently bought a sony vaio pcv-v1 with a mat****a UJ-810 DVD-RW drive built in and was looking for some advice as to where I could find out which blank dvd-r's and dvd-rw's I could use to burn video onto. I really don't want to buy a spindle of discs that don't work with it, thanks, Ed

My Packard Bell laptop has the same Matsush.ita UJ-810, I've not had any problems with any of the blank media that I have used. Here's the brands and formats that I have used:

DVD-RAM: Panasonic (No surprise there then as Panny are part of Matsush.ita).
    DVD-RW: Golding AQ.
DVD-R: Verbatim, Maxell, Mr. Data & unbranded discs.

Hope that helps, I usually get my blank media from Maplin but I'm sure you'd get cheaper if you bought online, I prefer to buy locally.

    p.s. The drive works with CD-R & CD-RW too.

You will probably get a better response in one of the other forums here.

There is a lot of information here

Haven't used the burner you have, but never had a problem using RitekG04 disks, in burning or being read on a variety of players.
