Have just been playing around ,switching between component and scart inputs and was suprised to see not that much difference. The dvd player is a tosh 340e the tv is a panny pd 30.The yuv cables are of reasonable quality but the scart is cheaper than cheap.Would i see better results from a cable upgrade or are the dvd players outputs not up to the job.Seem to remember better results from my old tosh 330.

Component and RGB signals are about the same quality. The difference is that over component cables you can activate the Prog Scan which will also tidy up jaggy edges. Another thing is that you need a TV that can take a Prog Scan signal.
