    Hi All,

Could anyone give some advice on improving TV sound in the most compact and wife-friendly manner?

I currently have a Panny 42PX70 plasma with the EX77 dvd recorder - what I need is a one or 3 speaker set-up that is small and discrete, with amp included. There are lots of cheapo all-in-one systems but they all have a DVD included.

Most of my watching is normal terrestial TV with the odd DVD- I have a seperate projector in another room with 5.1 setup for the full on experience. I don't want to fill another room with boxes...

I've seen the Yamaha all-in-one and this looks great apart from the price - I was hoping to budget under £200? What other options are there?

    Any thoughts/ideas folks?

    Cheers!

I'd look at some active speakers if all you want is a beefing up of your TV sound output.

Audioengine A2 reviewed in this months WhatHiFi or here look like the type of thing that would fit the bill. The Audioengine web site is here.

For a 2.1 option try these high sound quality speakers here. available in black or white.
