    Hi

I am looking to get a small digital camera which will be used for general use.

My main priorty is video capture. I want 30 fps at the best resolution. It must also have a underwater housing (case) avialible, to buy. The idea being to film fish whilst diving.

I would like 5 x zoom and 5 megapixels and for it to be as small as possible

I was looking at the Pentax Optio sv is it a good camera or could anyone suggest a better one.

    http://www.pentax.co.uk/product_details.php?divisionid=2&productid=1201&parentid=16

    Thanks in advance :)

Not 5x zoom and 5mp, but i'm sure Canon will do a similar spec model. My Ixus 30 works great underwater, just came back from the Whitsundays and have some really nice coral shots, saturation needed a bit of tweaking in PS, but other than that, great! Also does 640x480 video @30fps or 320 x 240 @ a whopping 60fps. Brilliant!

Cheers SeaneyC, that sounds very good. A lot better than the pentax. I'll have a look at the canon site :) Im off to the Rea Sea in a month :) Cant wait. Just looked up Whitsundays and it looks very nice. Have you got a lot of video footage and how long does a 512mg card give you?

It sounds as if you work in Jessops :)

Do you or any one know if there is an underwater housing for the Canon Digital IXUS 50. Also is this a good camera?

    Cheers :)

The ixus 50 takes the same case as my Ixus 30, the AW-DC30, which is waterproof to 3m. I picked it up in Australia for about £65 i think, you can probably it on Ebay or similar. You can do everything with the camera in the case you can do with it out of the case, which is handy (apart from change memory card or battery obviously!)

You could always send them a email asking if they can get you one.

to razor. i do work for jessops. i spoke to our help desk. ixus 50 housing is £99.99 but only goes to 3m. there is no indication that a non canon product will produce one that will go further. ixus 50 only arrived today in my store so not tried it yet
