anyone tried out one of these players - 50 quid from safeway at the moment - the guys over at the dvdforums seem to be snapping them up

picked one up at the weekend and it pretty good for the money - matches the quality of my proV output

outputs pal progressive as well as NTSC progressive - no idea what chip it has inside but for the money it will do for a while

First foray into P/S so I can't compare, but through my projector the picture is so much better than my old Wharfdale DVD player that even the wife remarked on it.

For £50 you can't really go wrong.

The picture via component video is fine but the prog scan image loses some clarity and the shadow detail is terrible. The picture is noticeably darker. Interlaced, the picture is much brighter and far, far better.
