Best game ever for the commodore 64 and 128 home computers, as per usual i will tot up the totals and edit the first post with the current standings every couple of days or few posts.

Feel free to vote for up to 10 games, these will be awarded points from 1-10 based on the position you enter them in, so to avoid moaning later this will apply from top to bottom, depending on the number of games listed i may include a nicer looking separate result thread later.

Obviously we will probably end up with one of these for the other consoles/computers too, argh you have been warned!! :D

Now we are talking, my first foray into the world of gaming. My top ten games would be :

1. turrican
2. Turrican 2
3. Creatures.
4. Rainbow islands
5. Speedball 2
6. Golden Axe
7. R type
8. Bubble Bobble
9. Power drift
10. Batman

Could have a top forty at this rate, but I'd say the above would have been my faves.

I'm not sure I can remember all the names but here goes;

1. North and South
2. Fiendish Freddys big top of .... (multipart circus game) on cartridge
3. Great Giana Sisters
4. Space Pilot
5. Powerdrift
6. Who dares wins II
7. Barbarian
8. Little Computer Person/People
9. A disk based multipart cowboy shootout game by us gold. Had a picture of a locomotive on the screen to the right I think.
10. Hero

I don't appear to be in sync with other people but I can only really recommend the games that I had. One game I hated on the c64 was Elite. It was too slow and sluggish compared to the BBC version. It was sooo unresponsive. Lovely sound effects though.

Just found this forum . Think I might have a little cry. Loved my commy64. Prob got less processing power than my toaster now. Can't remember all the games I had, but remember going back to these time and time again.

1. Elite
2. Arkanoid
3. Green Beret
4. Gosts and Goblins
5. Gunship
6. Space pilot
7. Last Ninja
8. Uridium
9. Cauldron 2
10. Kickstart 2 - better than 'little big planet' IMO

Know what you mean about Elite though- boy it was frustrating, why did it take 15 minutes to dock when you used the docking computer? On the speccy you switched it on and bang! in you went.

do these top lists produced here really mean anything

as somebody else said where is raid over moscow

i can add to that and ask where is head over heels and rambo first blood part 2

there are some people out there with some seriously bad taste in games

the Dreamcast and N64 lists are pretty good though

Nothing at all, but they give some indication to joe average of what to try via emulation or buy for his wii vc.

Like i said before you only need to stick your vote in.

there are some people out there with some seriously bad taste in games
Agreed but if we all had the same tastes there would only ever be a 10 game list. :rotfl:

Glad you like something :D

did think about putting in last ninja remix instead of 2, but for the life of me cant remember what was different in the remix. The only handy thing it was on a cart and had no load times.

Indeed not a lot, though the amiga version did sport a fantastic additional title tune which sadly i got as a ringtone on my mobile, i think it's so good.

It's the first tune heard here but sadly cut short after all of about 5 seconds as i can't seem to find a vid with anywhere near a decent length, the full version is over 3 minutes. :rotfl:
