Hi,
Need some opinions from you guys. I have all but made up my mind to go for the pany PWD8, and am getting really impatient. Have read good reviews about it, demod the nearest thing to it (a PE50), etc. Mainly interested in SD and DVD for now (PS3 perhaps for later). Also I really like the look of the panels. Trouble is the next generation panys are on our door. Here in Germany, the price difference is negligible between the PWD8 + 1 board and PV60 (HD display consumer model, out soon in March).
A question for you guys who have been tracking the technology changes over several years is there much advance in PQ (especially w.r.t SD) from year to year?
Will the current commercial models (e.g. PWD8) hold a candle to the new consumer panys out soon (i.e. PV60)? It seems that the current commercial models have not been out that long.
Perhaps Im asking an impossible question and simply have to wait? But waiting means seeing it for my own eyes, collecting info on reliability, buzzing, retention, i.e. usual problems. I just want to get on with it and I know where I stand with the PWD8/PHD8. For me it is a sizeable investment in time and money. Would be very gratefull for any opinions.
