Saw in Dear old Comet today that they are selling off any remaining HD50 's at £1500.00 (salesmen said they would sell the demo off as well if asked) seems like a bargain to me (and yes I know it cant get the fabled Sky HD but there again not everyone wants or can afford Sky)

I was in there getting a demo on a HD45 and I was sorely tempted, gonna think about it tonight and decide tomorrow, but £500 buys a lot a gear so might be swayed.

A very good set for the money if u are not worried about recieving hidef IMO better than any
Plasma LCD or CRT u could get for the same money. If the set was a demo one you don't want to pay over £1200

I bet by this time next year anyone that buys the 50" will be regretting it. For me the whole point of buying a set like this is for viewing hidef stuff, ok there are other sources of hidef but when Skys hidef service starts it will be a godsend. Buying something now that won't be compatible with that (or most other hidef products that come along e.g. HD-DVD players) seems a bit daft when for an extra £500 now you can save yourself the expense of inevitably replacing your non HDCP capable display with a HDCP capable one.

    Cheers,
    Andy.
