I'm having a bit of a dilemma. I currently have an LG TV connected via HDMI ARC to an old Sony surround sound system. This supports both HDMI and Optical inputs, however is unable to switch between the two, so I physically have to remove a wire to force it to switch inputs. I also have a Google Chromecast Audio connected via Optical Toslink to the system. I want to be able to play music from the Chromecast AND TV while maintaining HDMI CEC control from the TV and not having to force switch any inputs, but not necessarily at the same time. I would appreciate any suggestions on this matter, Thanks, Henry.

    A. Forget it. Disable CEC, add a 2x1 Optical Switch and add a Harmony Programmable Remote to the system.

    B. Fudge around forever with a CEC editor and hardware and eventually you may come up with a way to make it work.
