    Hi,

I had a short demo of a Domino 20H on Saturday which was pretty impressive, however I did see the rainbow effect (although to be fair I was looking for it!) My question is, if I saw it on the 20H, would this mean I would see it on the Domino 30H or HT300E (the 2 projectors I'm deciding between)? Are the colourwheels the same for all 3 projectors?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Hi Steve, Yes the colour wheels are the same in all 3 projectors.

All single chip DLP projectors will exhibit colour separation to some extent whether they are 6/7/8 segment, 4x or 5x wheels.

If you go looking for rainbows yes you will find them, ie. by scanning your eyes quickly across the screen but in reality when watching a film and focusing on the action you will see a lot less separation.

I have a 30H and I never see rainbows. I run it alongside a Pioneer 868 connected via HDMI.

I have seen them on previous projectors that I have owned, including Sharp and NEC but none on the SIM.

    Pete.

Thanks for the reply Pete. I guess I've just got to decide between the 30H and the HT300E then....!

A massive financial difference but I am not sure what the real life performance difference would be like. PM forum member RTFM (he posted earlier in this thread) who has a home cinema showroom in Horsham, for a demo. Not too far for you to travel.

I bought my 30h from Jeff and I have never looked back.

    Hope this helps!

    Pete :)
