    Hi all

The image on my AE100 show definite colour uniformity problems, going from green on the right to red on the left. On a lot of brght colourful material you don't notice it but on very monochromatic stuff like the Matrix and the Intro to the last Harry potter film it's very noticeable.

Is this uniformity a common fault? And is it a good enough reason to send it back for repair? Or is it a case of "they're all like that sir".

Thing is... is it likely to get worse over the years?

I wouldn't put up with it on a £300 TV from Comet, so why should I have to put up with it on a £1000 PJ?

    Cheers

    Chris

Not got any of that going on with mine, Chris.

I'd definitely be tempted to get em to take it back in for repair.

Mind you, I'm a cretin when it comes to av stuff. I probably wouldn't notice for a couple of weeks if the bulb went pop!

I only started noticing it on certain films. I saw a thread here a while back and they siggested going to the PJ menu, options, change background to grey and put an empty source through it (ie with no signal).

Sure enough I sees the background isn't a uniform grey colour across the screen. Bummer. Question is whether this is normal.:(

you don't need no weekend fix man - it's gonna be a right scorcher.

Unless you have a cellar home cinema!!

At least contact Panny right away so they can arrange stuff.

Yeah I know. But I won't be seeing it for a few weeks will I?

So I shall have to say my farewells at least.

I've just sent panasonic tech support an email. be interesting to see what they say. Think i might just invest in an extended warranty. My local AV supplier will do 3 yrs for £106 (excluding bulb). Which I think is cheaper than Panny's own.

It shouldn't take that long for repair. My power supply went this week. I phoned Panasonic on Wed morning. The collected it in the afternoon and I got it back today. Awesome customer service!!!

You got their number? Or is the website the place to look. I was figuring on taking it back to my dealer.

    Stormy

Warranty is with a company called Novasure. I can get mine through my local Dealer, Roy Jowett of Colne, Lancs. tel: 01282 863823

2 yrs; £64 up to 5 yrs at £282. This seems bloody good value. doesn't include the lamp though.

There are other links to them on the web I came across. look under novasure warranty.

    Cheers

    Chris
