I have't played with an Iscan Ultra yet but I would set everything to factory default or midpossition as a starter. then start playing with the projector settings.
What's the projector? As each pof these have their so called ideals

It doesn't matter what the 420's settings are if the DVD player and Iscan's settings are incorrect. Your delaer should be doing this for you. These devices are not plug and play.

Roland is correct in that you should set the CRT to defaults, then use test discs or reference material to set contrast/brightness etc on DVD player and video processor to make sure no information is being clipped or crushed and that colour decoder is working accurately. After that is confirmed adjust contrast on CRT so there is no blooming and brightness (using pluge or AVIA) etc.

I'm sorry I don; tknow defaults for 420. I'd guess if you call OWL they will help.

All the best,

Gordon
