Colour "Banding" on screen Samsung PS42A416

Standard Member
Hi all,

I've just brought a Samsung PS42A416 as a second tv for the kids to use.
I've set the picture to a reasonable level that Looks good but it has a very annoying banding issue that I can't seem to stop.
I'll explain, if you are watching a tv show and there is a large block of colour with different shades - instead of a smooth blend from colour to colour you get a nasty rainbow banding issue.

I'm at work at the moment so i cannot give exact settings but i has turned all digital enhancements off from the menus and nothing i'm doing seems to help, (i'll update with settings later) It also appears to happen on all inputs i've tried.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there a way i can stop/reduce this??

Please help!!

Posterization and banding are common to all PDPs (accept the Pioneer KURO)

If it's serious, there could be a fault with the set.
