I've read that the extended edition is an extra 30 mins of material and is on numerous discs. I need to know which of the above versions that is, I'm looking for the extended version with the best sound. I'm not bothered about the extras so if the cheaper "Extended Edition" has what I want I'll go for that one.
It MUST be region 1 of course :)

In terms of the film they are both identical (Extended version on 2 discs + 2 discs of extra features).
The only difference is that with the collector's edition you get the extra documentary, bookends and trading cards etc...

Go for it - best DVD ever! ;)

PS CD-Wow was the cheapest place (R1) last time I looked.
