Haven't caught it yet, but I see it clashed with ep 1 of ITV's new three part drama Trauma, airing Mon-Wed (finale tonight), starring some bloke called John Simm ...

BBC1’s Scottish detective drama Shetland returned Tuesday, solidly, as Mike Bartlett’s Trauma slipped by 1m

Enjoyed the first episodes of both. Prefer when John Simm doesn't put on his really bad posh(ish) accent though, much better in Trauma.

Agree, enjoying this, thought Trauma was very predictable, I called out so much of it before it happened.
Mulligan is acting at another level, could do with another series.

    I do enjoy the language ... e.g. Millbank = MI5

At least they get it right ... unlike Hard Sun, with Renko looking at the SIS (MI6) building across the river in Vauxhall Cross, calling them MI5, while not being too far from MI5's actual building, Thames House, just a short walk up the road in Millbank. Hasn't she watched any Bond film of the last 20 years?! Could have just used Spooks' old fake Thames House, Bush House near the Strand.

    It wasn't really, was it?

Great cast & the first couple were good, but in the end it just felt like none of it really went anywhere & they didn't know how to bring any of the storylines to a satisfying conclusion.

    I was massively underwhelmed.

It was a damp squib of a series end; very disappointing. At least it was only 4 episodes, so not much time was wasted, but still.................it just didn't go anywhere.

    Or did I miss something?

I don't know if you missed anything - the last episode was such a yawn I fell asleep. Really disappointed.

finale was ok, the series overall 6/10

i was more interested in the army girl who shot herself when carey mulligan sat on the bed the layout seemed odd of the room??, the body positioning seemed odd, like everything was mirrored/in wrong place

I thought this was 'ok to pretty solid'. Well put together and acted. I enjoyed the amount of characters in ep1 and seeing them connect in ep2. However I wasn't exactly gripped in the final episode and there wasn't much in the way of tension...

The main issue was the lack of any real story twists. After ep2 it was all pretty linear, just seeing the layers exposed. In current times that seems just a little bit lame, like they couldn't really be bothered. Maybe such twists and turns in shows like Line of Duty, Homeland and back to 24 are just current fashion - but it's what floats my boat, for sure.
