I've ordered the XBox version too, hasn't arrived yet, though the website (Amazon) says expected delivery of 28th.
Can't wait for this one, played 1 & 2 and they were both great!

PS2 version is pretty good actually, was quite surprised with the GFX, especially after TOCA Race Driver not impressing me too much.

Mind you, haven't managed to get away from PES2 long enough to give it a proper go

If anyone has seen the PS2 version and XBox side-by-side I'd be interested in their opinion. I got the PS2 version as I have a US XBox and I don't think it's out in the States yet. If the opinion is that the XBox version is much better I may trade-in the PS2 version when the XBox version is released Stateside.

Fantastic game, great graphics and handling, but I cant help but feel a bit let down by codemasters after all the talk of being part of the Ford team etc.

If anything its less involved that McRae 2, there is no damage repair options as its all done automatically. You just drive, see a pretty scene of all your machanics at work, then drive again.

And I cant beleive they hav'nt included an option to take part in a whole Championshio, or at least a rally in multiplayer mode.

But saying all that, its still an incredible game, wait till you get to the UK stage in heavy rain, AWESOME !!!

The X-Box vs PS2 was pretty similar. Although, X-Box did seem to be pumping out more textures and the bump mapping was shinier on the cars. Personally though, I did prefer the look of the PS2, the X-Box looked slightly more cartoony with ridiculous amount of shiny textures.

The damage you car takes is brilliant, so is the rain on the windscreen and the level replays.

Unfortunately its still crap to play from the 'inside car' view, the handling is too 'slippery' and theres not enough impression of speed. Theres also fewer tarmac stages than CMR2 which I definately preffered.
IMHO its about as much fun as the man himself.

Its sat here gathering dust since segaGT arrived and if i'm after a rally fix then rallisport gets the vote.

To keep it short I think it is absolutely fan-bloody-tastic.

Much better than Rallisport, true to the sport and above all loads of fun.

My only gripe is as some may have noticed it looks near idetical to te PS2 version, this is pretty much expected for multi platform releases (made for the lowest denominator ie PS2), Xbox is capble of so much more. Damn you PS2 holding back the black box.

Not too challenging, already completed normal & hard championships by second morn.

    Really Dissapointed with This Game.

After spending hours upon hours on Colin Mcrae 1 and then Playing the Brilliant Colin Mcrae 2, This is a major letdown.

Whether it's just the way the Ford is - As i usually go for the Subaru or the 206, But it doesn't seem to be as much involved and the car just seems unwilling to powerslide as well as the Previous 2 Versions.

Australia was one of my Fav's but on CM3 I was about 1 min 30 secs behind the Leader !

Is WRC 2 any good ?

I have McCrae 3 and IMO it's one of the most entertaining driving games ever in terms of handling, when you get used to it, there is nothing like going round a whole stage right "on the edge". Then again, it was my first venture into rally games.

I found the game (Xbox version) to be a terrible letdown, slapping a pole through the centre of the car & turning on that axis ruined the handling aspect. The courses felt like CM2.5 instead of a new game, the graphics are uniformly drab apart from the cars & lighting :( you can only drive the focus in the championship mode & there's no arcade mode anymore either....

    4/10.

I played WRC (the 1st one Saturday)

This is even worse than Colin Mcrae 3
