Don't think I caught this 2005 retelling with Damian Lewis, Sophia Myles & Tom Hardy. It's getting a another airing on ITV3 soon.

Thanks for the heads up - missed it at the time as well. Looks good.

Without wanting to smash hopes, it was a little bit silly IMHO. The original BBC series was much better.

The original BBC series was much better.
A series my mum and dad use to watch along with Secret Army which I never bothered with until repeated on UK Gold and really enjoyed. I believe all the events in the Colditz series were based on actual events.

Been waiting/hoping for ages for one of the channels to reshow Secret Army.
I hope you get to see it it is a very good series and at times could be quite dark and you come away far from being happy. Two of the best roles were both Germans, Clifford Rose as Sturmbannführer Ludwig Kessler a totally hateful man and in the last series Terrance Hardiman as Major Reinhardt although trying to shut the life line down did follow a better code and often bumped heads with Kessler.

I think I've probably watched the full run a few times over the years, but long enough back to now enjoy a fresh viewing. Like you say Garrett, great series.

Worth noting that the BBC's Colditz and Secret Army are both available on DVD.
