Not seen this but I guess I have.
Man gets wrongly done to. Man gets annoyed, man goes on a rampage seeking revenge. End of story??? Isn't that every Liam Neeson flick?

Watched the 4k disc last night, and agree with the whole review, hit the nail on the head. Thanks.

If it was only as straightforward as that i’d have had a much better chance of wanting to watch it again but this came across to me as some sort of Scandi/black comedy/western with the actor playing the main villain desperate the show how many times he’d watched Heath Ledger’s take on the Joker.

The original is better starring Skarsgård (In Order of Disappearance) which was sort of went under the radar here in the UK, quality film.
Liam's version is okay, a bit like Mel Gibson's in Payback from the 90s.
Question you ask yourself after viewing, would you watch it again?

Give it a 7/10, guess the film was in the media for all the wrong reasons at the time due to Liam's comments so probably didn't do that well like it was suppose too.

I don't think the film was trying to be serious but their lies the equilibrium.
Comedy? Drama or just a good shoot em up.

      Peace.

It's utterly bizarre. The tone is all over the place. I guess it's going for some Tarantino-esque style black comedy but doesn't really pull it off. Laura Dern was completely wasted too. Worth a watch but definitely not worth adding to your collection.

This misses striking so many quirk factor nails on the head it is a big disappointment.
You can only get the impression they thought Neeson's idea of what stoic entails would play here to darkly (better not use black here) comic effect. Shock. Not. It really doesn't.
The standout character for me was the often underemployed William Forsythe. In fact, I'd far rather him of taken the lead as that man imbues gravitas and has a level of range Neeson can only dream of.

Skis I have acquired over a very long career.
Skis that make me a nightmare for people like you.

I watched this - it’s pretty poor stuff - it’s hard to know where to start really - the humour is misplaced and doesn’t work - the mortuary scene springs to mind as awful - Laura dern is barely in it - like they cut out a large file of what she filmed - Liam neeson doesn’t really look like he’s grieving for his son - I could go on - the worst Liam neeson Acton film to date

I watched the Blu Ray version on Saturday and thought it was a reasonable popcorn movie. Cas's review is pretty much spot on. I then decided to watch the Norwegian original In Order of Disappearance on Amazon Prime last night. Now, I know both films have the Director in common but I dont think I have ever seen a remake that is so close to the original. Its virtually identical scene by scene and shot for shot. Comparing the two movies I would find it hard to recommend one above the other?

I watched the regular Bluray last night and thought it was a pretty poor film. I hadn't seen any trailers and didn't know anything about it other than the Cinema Paradiso synopsis. My first thoughts were 'This is trying to be Fargo and mostly failing miserably'. There were a few funny moments but most of it fell flat with me. The thing that spoiled it more than anything else is Tom Bateman as the lead villain 'Viking'. That's some of the worst acting I've seen in a while. He was hilariously bad. I usually really like Liam Neeson's post-Taken (excluding Taken 3) action films but this one is a dud, which is a shame, as with it being a native 4K disc it would have been a worthwhile purchase if the film had been good.
