Colchester sunset 8-10-08

Snapped these tonight using my old D50, cropped and framed but nothing else.

For the last one I pointed the camera at the sky in an area away from the sun in manual mode, turned the knobs until correct exposure was indicated then dialled in two stops under exposure - been reading my "Understanding exposure" book, now I have finished it will have to re-read it so that it all sinks in !

1 - 1/1000 sec at F10, ISO 200

2 - 1/100 sec at F16, ISO 200

3 - 1/80th sec at F16, ISO 200

Not to bad for quick point and shoot ?

Still life in the old D50 yet i guess. Using the sky brothers technique works too.

I quite like that last one - a rather brooding cloud there!
