a barely maintained 25FPS on a 6800Ultra, 1gb Ram, AMD64bit 3200. settings i had was 1280x1024 NO AA or AF :( most things on normal. geez i guess my hardware is getting old now :(

well been checking a few other forums and people are running it fine on systems lesser than mine so i will have to do some messing. maybe the game does not like my driver set but i shall investigate later on

It's difnitly something to do with your drivers. It runs great on my 6800GT.

I been playing this at 1280X1024 with full settings on my 6800GT and it does indeed look stunning. So many special effects like smoke and stuff.

However, I cant help but realise that it did in fact look even better on the XBox 360 at TGS. It was the same demo but with higher resolution! I dont know why, it just looked slightly better on the 360! It could be that it was set to 1080i which would be a resolution of about 1920X1080. The monitor im using just now only goes up to 1280X1024 so I cant really crank it up any higher to compare the 2 settings!

I know most of you wont have had a chance to play it on the 360 yet, but what do you think?

If you enjoyed the first one then yeah you will enjoy this. It's just more of the same though, but slightly tweaked. More scripted sequences, more dumb AI, more mindless shooting etc. But yeah it's fun :) Very well executed and looks superb if your machine is up to it.

If its fun, it's probably worth the download. However, there also seems to be a Brother in Arms demo - which is better (that's also >600MB download!)

I wonder how this will stack up against the xbox 360 version. I am a big fan of Call of Duty and was planning on bagging it on the 360 instead of the pc. Any thoughts to which one will be better? :)

from the videos ive seen and the comparisons made by people who have seen both in action by all accounts the xbox 360 version is superior. graphically as now id come to expect the 360 has the edge :) apprently on COD for 360 you can have 64 players online :D something which PDZ promised and kept knocking the number down to 50 then 42 now 32 :(

ohh the cover art :D

you can just about see the 2-64 players :)

As i said in my last post I felt the 360 version was slightly better. Nicer textures and higher resoltuion.

But thats stacked up agains my 6800GT. If you had a 7800GT and a monitor capable of 1920X1200 then maybe they would look exactly the same.

Im pretty sure ATi and Nvidias new chips that are in the PS3 and 360 are better than any currently available card for the PC so it wont be possible to get the same performance and graphics on a PC.

Cheers for the feed back guys, I have a mate who has the 7800GTX and he keeps banging on about how the pc version will be better. I was unsure as too which version would be better. Nice to know the xbox 360 is better as I dont fancy replacing my x800tpe just yet. :)

Well, the new ATi cards arent out yet, so unless the 7800 is better than what ATi put in the 360 then I wouldnt worry.

ATi's (see it reviewed at HardOCP) "Xfire" is also a bit dissapointing at this time.
Maybe once the new ATi cards come out it will be the thing to get over SLI.

Maybe you noticed one of the options in COD2. A setting for dual card suystems?

I wonder what that would do to the game? Maybe just better performance.

I have seen a benchmark sheet with the 7800gtx and the ATI 1800 and the 7800gtx beat it on most tests. Mind you what with new drivers emerging all the time its too early to tell. :)

The game seems ok,pretty much the same as the first 1 but a bit prettier and a bit busier. As someone mentioned earlier the MOH/COD series is very scripted so you know what type of gameplay to expect, theres none of that exploring the enviroment malarkey;its just the old game on a rail routine which is fine as long as you dont expect anything more.

Apart from the restricted enviroment and the stupidest AI since Donkey Kong the game seems ok :smashin:I think if I buy the game or not will depend soley on what they do with the multiplayer aspect.

just played this on my projector @ 720p in :dd: 5.1 :D i loved it before now i just am failed for words. i've never heard audio like that in a game its truly astonishing. the volumetric smoke is the best ive seen implemented and it dosnt just dissapear. its more of the same with a few updated things running on a totally new game engine. if you like me adored the original then this will deliver on all fronts for you. not for all people as i know some hate scripted events but when its handled right its breath taking IMO. this is on my 360 pre-order list most certainly
