After having a go at the a zombie level (solo) there at the weekend and hear Richtofen speaking during the intro i was thinking to myself, you know i love to watch a film about all these Characters and how these zombies came to be...

So many questions, this time machine he speaks of?

How the zombies came around did Richtofen make them?

How does the rest of the characters (Dempsey, Masaki and Belinski) come together to fight these zombies?

If you think about the millions of COD fans world wide, i think a film be a great idea not only to make them some more money from us but to clear up all these questions i have..

Whats everyone elses view on this?

    +1 :smashin:

Films based on games should be banned lol. Look at the drivel that is Tomb Raider (ok apart from it having Angelina dressed as Lara Croft mmmmm :smashin:)

Yes true enough.. when you think on tomb radier it was just cheesey.. If they got a 18 certificate for it like the game and the right director i think it could work..

Lets face it in the past its failed big time.. 'Doom' another one that was a big let down.. But with COD being the best game ever.. I know a film or even a tv series would be hit..

Sorry to go against the grain but I'm pretty sure I'd watch it. Not a generic CoD film, but one specifally about the zombies and their origins etc. as per original post.

Agree that most films based on games are pretty poor, but I really like the Resident Evil films. I know they're not the most mentally challening of films, and are only loosely based upon the games (taking the characters and themes rather than specific story lines) but I enjoy them anyway.

Bit of a theme here though. I like zombie films so I guess it was always going to be a thumbs up from me

Point taken - Res Ev is a quality film, cant comment on Black Hawk Down as i've not seen it

2 more :thumbsdow films made from games - Street Fighter & Mortal Kombat. Although I do have to admit that these are so crap & cheesy that they're enjoyable

MK is the better of those two.

    BHD is a cracking film.

I like the Resi Evil ones. Silent Hill should have a shout as that is genuinely chilling, probably best game to film there is.

A good premise for a movie but you all know that it would turn out balls. Like-

    Mario Bros
Doom ( Could you smell what the rock was cookin, other than a big pile of camel ...... ?)

    MK, SF (both god awful)!

Final Fantasy (LOVED the games but this was bad, real bad)!

Prince of Persia (Jake Gyllenhaal.....Really??? What were they thinking?!!!)

However, I do like the RE films and loved Silent Hill. To be honest though, with my taste in movies I'm in no position to really comment on bad video game to movie adaptations.

i always kinda liked the first Mortal Kombat movie

I would like to see a Mariokart movie (id settle for a 15 min CGI short, kinda like those pixar shorts before Toy Story).

I always thought that an R-Type movie would be good :D

Ey, wha's occurin' like butt?

Anywho - back to topic. The Final Fantasy film mentioned - is this the animated one you're reffering to? If so I really liked that (i'm guessing from what's already been said I should be embarrased by this but hey ho )

    haha

and the spirits within was a massive flop in my opinion as it had nothing to do with any story i knew anything about but cgi or whatever they used were immense for the time of release.

Advent Children on the other hand i loved!! mainly because im die hard FFVII fan and would of loved it anyway!

Back on topic, would you include some kind of random box? how would you implement that into a film perspective?!

    The Scene:

2 men taking a time out from some zombie madness, fancy a flutter on a random fairground game of chance.

Bloke #1: "I better not get a soddin' pistol from this thing again"
Bloke #2: "Hey man, that box is totally random"
Bloke #1: "yeh i know man, i know. But if i get the pistol 5 times in a row, i will truly think that the world is out to get me. Ignoring the swarms of Zombies we are facing an' all"
Bloke #2: "Man, no way you can be that unlucky it's such a mathmatical improbabi........."
Bloke #1: "GOD DAMMIT AGAIN! This thing is rigged!"

    AND SCENE!

I cant see an issue intergrating a random box into a movie. :D

i got 5 crossbows in one game last night! takes the biscuit! got some dual cz43805 and paped them :) calamity and jane! swiftly stolen by the doctor!! -- who i want played in the film by christopher lloyd!

we also need a leading lady.. no films complete without a love interest, some badass chick that can compete with dempsey.

im thinking a vasquez from aliens esque maybe played by Michelle Rodriguez.

also i like Thomas Jane for Tank Dempsey!

Rather than Rodrigues, id go for Milla Jovovich. As she always seems to embody these weird scenario movies well. Starred along side Rodriguez in Resident Evil, and was brilliant in The Fifth Element. So she would be my choice, for my perceived style this completely theoretical movie would be shot in.

    :D

Knowing Activision they would premiere the film and stop it just before the ending.

Then everyone would be informed that the ending will be available shortly as DLC .. priced at £7.99

Death Watch was awful. Very drab, poor scares, dire visuals. One of the only films I have bought and returned.

Want a good one, get 'Dead Snow'

A Black Ops movie..... that might just work if they make it authentic.
Settle down to watch it at the cinema with your bucket of popcorn & bath full of coke only to be kicked out of your seat back into the Lobby!!!!!
