    i have a samsung 709 with a coaxial digital out<br />and a technics da sa 8 with an optical in

    i have seen a coaxial spdif to optical converter

    is the 709 output spdif or is this something diferent

    SPDIF (Sony-Philips Digital InterFace) defines a standard and does not name the connector, i.e. SPDIF can be either coaxial or optical. The latter is also referred to as TOSlink (Toshiba Link).
