I'm looking for the cable as titled, so without luck. It is to pass through digital audio from a PC soundcard (minijack) to an amp (phono). I am aware that you can buy minijack->phono adapters but would like to track the down the cable itself.

Does anybody know of a UK online supplier that sells this.

    Thanks

    Hi albany,

I'm not clear exactly what you're looking for. Is it seperate cable and connectors that you can make up yourself?

Also, is it for a digital signal (single phono), or analogue signal (two phonos)?

It is a ready made non-standard coaxial cable. It has an RCA/Phono connector on one end and a 3.5mm minijack on the other end.

Maplins do sell a minijack adapter which could be added to one end of a standard coaxial cable, but I've read that this fix does not always work.

Which is why I am looking for the ready made cable. I'm told it does exist but is proving hard to find.

The signal is digital and passed straight through from the minijack SPDIF on the card, to the phono coaxial in on the amp.

If the connectors are right, then it'll work fine. The requirements for video and digital audio are pretty much the same (not that either 3.5 mm or phono connectors can ever satisfy them totally, but it will work :)).

    Hello Albany,

The cables here are available with one end terminated with a high quality Canare 3.5mm jack ( no extra charge) you just have to ask :)

Or just use a cheap one as peridot says, will work but not the best way,

If you want to be really cheap then use a bog standard soundcard stereo 3.5mm jack to two phono cable and just use the white phono connector, this will also work, good enough for desktop PC speakers, but not ideal if feeding a high end AV amp etc.

    hope that helps,

    Mark.
