    Help!!!!!!!

I have a Denon 3910 and Sony STR-DB1080. I have an issue which is that when connecting them together using the Digital Coaxial cable - a good quality cable (Such as a QED Cable) does not give me any sound whatsoever, but using a very generic cheap cable does.

I recall this occuring before with another cable - I put that cable on my laserdisc player and I got sound no problem but on the DVD player (at the time) I didn't receive any sound.

Is there any issue with the amp and DVD players using the coaxial or am I being really dense and missing something obvious ? I'd obviously rather use the decent cable over the cheaper one, but it's the only way I get sound !!

    TIA

The coax output/input is correctly configured?
The cable is unidirectional or bi?
Try to measure the cable and see if it have lower Ohms. If you get high resistence, you have to see where it is broked/unsolder.

    Doh!

Cable is uni directional apparently and I missed the arrows!! White arrows on White coax is REALLY hard to spot!

Thanks for the heads up - shall try and feel less dense!

    might be bad contact somewhere.
measure it by putting the probes on both ends and try moving the cable.

anyway i would not use that one
