I was having some signal issues with this high pressure and noticed that the plug on my coaxial cable was very corroded. Thinking that re-terminating might help, I cut off the old plug to fit a new one - only to discover that the shielding metal is disintegrating when I touch it!
I've tried going back down the cable to try and find a fresh spot, but it seems to be the same no matter how far I go back - the secondary conductor is a dull greyish black, that literally falls apart on contact.
Anyone any bright ideas? Does the whole cable need replacing? This goes all the way up to the aerial on the roof, so if it's buggered, so am I ...
