I'd like to know as well, I got an update email saying this post had been made, but when I followed the link but the post had gone along with lynneharvey's previous post...?

Here is the post that was deleted, could you please explain what was offensive or rule breaking about it that it required deletion??

    Cheers

    Ryan

maybe it was deleted as there was a person having a dig at one of the forum sponsors.

the person in question has popped up on the avsforums too.

Yeah probably, but as those comments have been deleted, could a mod re-open the thread so I can reply to the sensible posts please? :)

I wouldn't call it a dig, it was merely a comment about a forum members experiences with the company in question in the thread... come on you can't really start deleting and closing every thread that has a negative comment about a company that happens to be a forum sponsor, can you??
Also the last post was saying that the problem had been sorted...

The thread was closed by myself - Smurfin, i'll pm you later regarding this if you so wish. The posts deleted had no relevance to the thread topic.

The title of the thread was "AVSales - Bunch of cowboys" and someone posted about an issue they had with AVSales and then about how their problem was being dealt with, in what way were these posts of no relevance to the thread topic??

The title was one of irony, remember then that smurfin went on to deliver praise after that. The posts deleted were off topic simple as that.

Fair enough, I think enough people have learnt not to bother arguing a point with a moderator. Though I still think your argument for deleting the posts and closing the thread is a poor one and its nothing more than over zealous censorship to try and protect a forum sponsor from any sort of negative press... :thumbsdow

[devils advocate]You'd be a very busy moderator if you deleted every off topic post from every thread...[/devils advocate]

Perhaps the person in question could start a new thread and then his comments would be on topic.?

I suggest you contact forums admin if you feel this was done as some kind of censorship to favour a sponsor.
