with the release of this DVD at the end of MAY (region 1), Does anyone know if the region 1 version will be a two disc DVD? Also, will it be THX approved? And lastly, any differences between region 1 and 2?

I've pre-ordered a R4 version (as the above states will be 2 disc SE including DTS) from www.ezydvd.com.au and it appears their release date is a bit earlier than the R1 (only by days I must add) I used ezydvd for the first time recently & was amazed at their prompt service to the UK (ordered Wednesday arrived Saturday) GO AUSSIES !?!?

Does anyone know if there are any differences between the R4 and R1 versions?

The notes I have found for the R4 version say 16:9 enhanced - does this mean 1.85:1?

This usually means anamorphic. The aspect ratio can actually be anything from 16:9 to 2:1.

Why don't manufacturers just the correct frame size followed by 'Anamorphic' ?

The only disc I've got that says it's 16:9 Anamorphic is Underworld's Everything, Everthing.

Just to clear something up, apart from THX certification (which is the only thing I've not heard about for definite), the CEOT3K discs are identical whichever region you buy, obviously with the exception of languages and subs. The spec is the same on all regions regarding pic/sound/extras (R2 was, as usual, slow to confirm DTS but this was eventually confirmed about 2 months ago), except that the R1 version has an additional bonus feature......RCE.

Seeing as the spec is identical, would it be safe to assume that THX certification is common to all regions, or would someone have to go a bit technical on me to explain it?
