It's the same with ABBA (which I like). It wasn't cool to like them a few years ago but it is now.
Being "cool to like" someone doesn't actually make their
music any good. Look at the Top 10 on something like Top of the Pops and all you'll see is a cascade of crap that it's "cool" to like.
Much like listening to either Cliff Retard or Abba.
Course, it's all relative at the end of the day. Who's right and who's wrong?
Fair play to anyone that likes real music, at least Cliff got where he was through having some degree of talent and wasn't just a face slotted into a "5 piece vocal harmony group" put together by committee, with a shelf life of about 18 months.
