When I play mp3 or WMA files on my PC (either WMP10 or iTunes) I get intermittant popping and clicking. It's not present at any given spot (if I replay the part it doesn't sound in the same place).

Any ideas as they play perfectly on my mp3 player?

Could be static. Your PC case may be passing it on to your soundcard. I've had this happen a couple of times, but it went away so I never looked into remedying it.. Must be some way to get rid of it..

It appears to be more prominent on downloaded music.

I get a lot from a Russian mp3 site. Technically legal but quite cheap!

We have a Sony Vaio laptop that's only a P3 450 with 128MB RAM. Most of the time it's fine playing music but there are sometimes where it trips up.

What system are you running, your PC might need an upgrade of RAM or CPU if it can't hack mp3 replay.

Yeah, I definately think your computer is too slow  :D

Ummm, how is the PC connected the speakers, via SPDIF or stereo jack ? Try Stereo jack if you are connecting via the SPDIF.

Sounds like a similiar issue I had with an Asus mainboard...............try a search. It was a SATA issue in that case IIRC.
