Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice on the above please.
I've read Gordons advice on his site but was wondering about the following;

1) Any tips on cleaning the external casework? What's everyone using?

2) Concerning Isopropyalchohol...Where can you buy the 99% variant from? I noticed i had a largish can of Antistatic Screen Cleaner that contains this stuff 'in a blended formula'. Is this only 70% that Gordon refers to and more importantly will i wreck my new pride and joy using this stuff:eek:

Thanks in advance for your help (expect LOTS of questions from me over the next week or so when my projector arrives on Wed/Thurs:)

Cheers,

Shaun

For cabinets
JIF is the best stuff ive come across to get the ingrained dirt out. You then need to use a plain damp cloth and keep changing the water.

For lenses
The problem with 99% alcohol is that as soon as you open the top it starts absorbing water. To be honest I have use the 70% and had no problems. The most important thing is to get the dust off first. Then to be very careful.

Funny

I've been in exactly the same position as regards getting hold of the alcohol.

In the end my dad found that KVJ Fairdeal sells the stuff (he bulk-buys audio tapes).

I'll tell you if it's any good once it arrives.
