Can you use the cleaning cloth supplied for cleaning the LCD for the lens as well? it feels a bit rough and no mention in the manual.

    Why take the risk?
If you do damage the lens it is far more expensive to repair than just going to a camera shop or opticians and buying a lens cloth.
I play it even safer and have a filter permanently attached to the lens for protection. If that get damaged throw it away and buy a new one for a couple of quid. If left attached the lens never needs cleaning.
