The extras have been partially completed for season 20 so that's virtually a certainty for this summer

It's always been the aim of the team to get a mix of releases out there and they fully intend to release all the classic show within this Blu-ray range, mainly due to the success of season 12 and the range as a whole.
Hartnell's may be 2021 as these do get pushed back it seems.

Troughtons final season has also been suggested at some point so that would balance it out nicely.
The ropey pic quality of these episodes will make it an "interesting " release.

Yes that's true but they did wonders with quatermass and the pit, that really surprised me as that was worse than 60s who, although the film footage obviously looked much better for obvious reasons.

Indeed I was very surprised by that release. I doubt if much or any film for old Who still exists though.

Ugh. Why would I want a Region 2 Blu-ray? Wouldn't even match the ones I have already. I'll stick to R1 thank you.
Just asking out of curiosity, were multi-region (i.e. modified) players ever popular with serious shiny disc collectors on your side of the pond as they were here? My last DVD player was, as is my current BD player (though only for DVDs).

Obviously as UK based I'm not an expert Krish but I gather that multi region machines are not readily available in the States. If not out right banned they are at least frowned upon. I'm multi region for blu as well as DVD.

I have a few R2 DW Blu-rays that play fine on my LG Blu-ray player and TV but they're region free. I also have a few R2 DVDs (including the never released in the US second version of Enemy of the World with extras). The R2 DVDs that I have can be played on my computer or copied and burned on to a DVD-r which can be played on my DVD player and TV since my DVD player can play R2 DVDs but only with the region restriction removed. Not 100% sure but it seems to be converting the PAL signal to NTSC on my player and TV.

I also bought the Avengers Tunnel of Fear R2 DVD because it was never released in the US. That one I couldn't copy directly but it does play fine on my computer with the DVD player turned off on my Mac computer and using the VLC player. I also have a separate DVD player hooked up to my Mac with the region thing turned to R2.

I've not looked into this thread for some time and wasn't aware of the classic Dr Who's being collected into BD sets. I've ordered the Doctor Who – The Collection: Season 14 but it looks like I've missed the boat on the first Tom Baker set unless I want to pay silly money. I notice the US sets are more reasonably priced but the numbering is confusing. So you have Tom Baker season 1 AKA Season 7but its also described as AKA Season 12???

So If I order the UK Season 14 which US season do I need to order to ensure I'm up to date with Tom Bakers run to date?

Even more confusingly Dr Who Complete S12 is Jodie Whittaker. It's a bloody minefield

I like the look of the US sets however, Standard BD case, unlike the bulky UK packaging and the US set is cheaper.
I went for US, nice small amaray, and title of "TB complete s1" makes more sense to me!

$24.99 is a bargain too (I paid more)

BTW US S1 had 2 replacement discs (1 and 6) its earlier in thread, but maybe fixed now.

Tom bakers first season (1) is season 12 of who , it's not AKA season 7, that's Tom's final season ,known as season 18 which was the third collectors box set released.
