    Hello Phil,

do you still have your cp800?? I'll deffo have it at your asking price!! £2450 right??

I just wondered... I was waiting for ages for one of these to come up but eventually went for the Sigma because I couldn't wait for a used cp800 any longer. The Sigma is a bit wasted on me because I'm not interested in multi-channel, but remembered the cp800 was quite a bit better

So I'm local-ish to you, I don't suppose I could use your cp800 to compare to my Sigma?? Merely for fun really as my mind is really made up tbh.

I'm away for the next week or so but will be in touch soon

    Yes, I know.

Streaming is rubbish, connection via USB is infinitely better in my experience.

My Sigma has streaming, which I thought would be a bonus since I could eliminate the PC because I could push stuff direct from the NAS.

However I very quickly went back to the PC. I'm very fond of JRiver anyway, and it's just so much quicker (no pauses, delays when selecting tracks, gaps between songs blah blah) and USB just sounded plain better. Everthing with the PC is instant, plus you know EXACTLY what is being sent to the DAC over USB as JRiver have spent a lot of time optimising thier player.

I know in theory it shouldn't matter because it's all 0s and 1s anyway, but jitter is very real (I didn't believe it until I reluctantly changed my £1.99 USB cable for a £50 one)

Besides DLNA is still too clunky for me.

The rest of the amp is the same (I'm sure Classe do an upgrade for only £800 ish) so mk1/11 not bothered either way, but thanks for the advice.

I was just making sure you are aware. Apart from being able to handle 192 over USB I can't say I noticed a difference going to mk2 (I have had mk1 and mk2 CP800s), and yes the streaming is rubbish!

Hi Lawrence, no it hasn't sold yet.

I've given Rod my contact details but he's now away for a few weeks as he eluded to in his post. Unfortunately we couldn't hook up before he went away, and we'll pick up the conversation when he's back
