I thought I would try and be a more innovative for this month’s competition – as always I will let the others be the judge of how successful I was ;)

Seeing that a local park was hosting a fun fair (now there’s an oxymoron – there did not seem to be too much “fun” and judging by the prices not a lot was “fair”) I thought it may give me some inspiration. First thought was that may have had one of those kids play areas with lots of coloured balls, but no such luck then I thought “roundabouts”. Finally thought if I use a slowish shutter speed I should be able to get the impressions of circles of light. This photo was taken with my D80 on a tripod to keep everything not moving nice and sharp. The lens was my Nikon 18-135 F/3.5-5.6 G kit lens at 40mm, ISO was 200 with a shutter speed of 1/2second at F10. I did a bit of tweaking and cropping with Adobe Elements 5.

Nice motion blur. Agree that it would look better at night.

I think there will be a few fairground pics this month - I've got a couple ready to go already...

That would have been past my bedtime

I did think about doing the shot later but was worried that the still items would not be that visible. Of course I could do some cheating with some post production
