Would a HTPC do justice to a Barco Cinemax?

    Roland?

    Yes

Expect your PC to have to run at 1600x1200 in 16x9 mode.

    You trading up then?

1600x1200 is no problem for Kryton but I would probably go for 1920x1080. :p

IT would look pretty good I'd think.

We need an Event as I missed the last one, and we need a Cinemax there with Kryton and The Snell and Willcox Gold thingy!

I'll make an offer for it as it will be EX-DEMO!

I'm sure that could be arranged.
Takes about a week to set up to those sorts of resolutions properly

    The detail must be phenomenal!

I'll have to start doing the lottery again!

I can't really comlain though, an 808 is not a bad little home projector when it boils down to it!

    Nick,

I don't think that your PC will be up to the task, I'll sell you a Kryton clone for 10K. :D

According to ATI it should go to 1600 x 2400 or something!

    £10k is a bargain!!

Jeff, are go going to do an update of the Kryton article on the HCC site? It was my first taste of HTPC and really got me thinking hard about it. Be good to hear how things have evolved and the benefits you've got as a result!

Or are you too busy developing?

    Cheers

    Nick

I'm upgradeding quite a few of the components and trying out a lot of new stuff, SDI DScaler is coming along nicely as is the software DVD player. Hopefully by the time Event 2 comes along I should have it all nailed down. I plan to write another article to coincide with the Event, that way you'll be able to read about it before seeing it in action.
