    Im intrigued as to what gear they use in cinemas. I've wondered for a while and last week when I watched Dark Night rises the sound distorted badly. You could hear the cones smacking and clattering. Made we wonder what they use? It was Vue cinema btw but I wonder what most use? Usually it's a great sound locally at Vue and Odeon.
    :)

    Ive only been to an Odeon once. (It was the one in Leicester and was over 10 years ago. I remember thinking the audio was pretty pathetic. Quality was ok but it wasnt at all immersive. It didn't sound much more than a mid-range home system. It was a relatively small screen though. Got no idea if they're all the same or not.

    The speakers at the Showcase Cinema Delux, Leicester are much more substantial. I got a relatively close up look at one of the units along the side of the cinema once while waiting for a post credit scene to appear. They were JBL speakers like one of these

    JBL :: Product Family

    Obviously I've got no idea which exact model though. Presumably the rest of the speakers behind the screen etc would also be JBL professional models

    Yeah that's the one. A friend of mine went there a couple of months ago and said she thought it looked like it needed a bit on money spending on it.

    I live in Oakham so am pretty much half way between Leicester and Peterborough. Until the Showcase de lux opened I used to go to the Showcase in Peterborough. Even though that place is much older than the Leicester Odeon it still provided a better experience.

    oddly enough a mate of mine went the other week for a 2nd batman viewing and he said the place was in a right state, suspect theyve lost all their business now that showcase has opened....

    Does anyone know what the mAjor cinemas use as equipment? Is it all JBL?
    Dark night rises really suffered... Might try it in IMAX in Manchester to compare.

    I was in cineworld in Glasgow for Dark Knight Rises and the sound excellent. I worked in showcase when I was younger and I'm sure they used JBL...

    Ah not just me then. I figure that because they've taken Banes voice so low in the frequency mix, the sound is being routed via the subs. Perhaps that's why he's so hard to understand?

    Ps.... 7 times???!!!! Jeez I'm jealous
