Hi everyone 👋

Thought you’ll all be interested in my home cinema build.

The room in the photos was previously built as a swimming pool, but the previous owner filled it in. Luckily for us, the room had to be completely gutted and rebuilt. This gave us a blank canvas to design the room for our specific needs.

As none of the walls were plastered, we added a stud wall around the inside to run all the speaker cables. The ceiling also had to be pulled down. Allowing us to install the 4 atmos speakers and hue spotlights which we lined up with the sofa.

The TV choice was a interesting discussion point between myself and my wife. I had plans to install a projector, but due to the way the roof slopes down on one side, It wasn’t feasible. She suggested that we simply buy a bigger TV. spoilt by our 55C7 oled. We knew we had to have another one. The 77CX was the best bang for buck

All of the cabling runs through the wall into the office next door. Keeping the denon, Apple TV and Blu-ray player out of sight (although not as tidy as I would like at he moment)

The setup is as follows

TV - LG OLED77CX

Audio
  • Denon X3700h - set up in a 5.2.4 configyration
  • Monitor Audio bronze 6th gen urban grey
  • front left/right bronze 500’s
  • centre bronze c150
  • Rears - bronze FX
  • atmos height speakers - monitor audio c165
  • subwoofers- 2 x BK elec xls200

Other AV equipment
  • Apple TV 4K
  • Panasonic UB820 4K player

thanks for reading and I hope you all like what I’ve done.

Brilliant room. Looks really good.

Wow...what a lovely room.

Looks amazing and plenty of potential should the bug really bite and you want a BIG projection screen on the wall instead!!:eek:

awesome work, love the sofa.

Very nice room and a great space. I bet those BK subs are a bit lost though.

You would think that given the size of them. I run them about 50% and they are more than enough for my needs. You can definitely tell when they are running as you can feel the subs through the sofa.

On a side note I’ve got them connected to a couple of smart outlets so I can turn them on via Alexa.

Made a small upgrade to the room. Added in a LED light stripe that I had going spare. Really does help when we dim the lights.

I've got the Denon 3600h and it's a great amp either with or without additional amps. Nice clean sharp room .... Loving the glow. I was going to do this on my TV room walls until I saw how poor my plastering was !!

Thanks. Appreciate the comments. The thought has crossed my mind if I need any additional power. Decided to spend the money on the Audessy app to begin with, Fine tuning the sound before adding new hardware.

Well, I have some sensitive speakers MK Sound and didn't notice ANY difference adding external amplification. Basically, to listen at normal ( or hurty levels ) the amp had enough juice to the point where I could not listen any louder. The one item I did notice help was a AntiMode 8033ii to equalise the subs. Press a button, it does stuff, subs sound better ! Simple ! Get one second hand if possible as they don't break.
