Hello all. Could anyone advise how to convert old Cine film to digital for eventual transfer to dvd etc. Are there dedicated machines or do you simple set up a camcorder to film it direct from the screen? Have seen adverts for Cine film transfer, but just wondered how they do it. Surely they don’t just film it off the screen? Have tried using search engines to gather this information but the results just keep pointing me to commercial services.

    Tony

I believe you can purchase units that will help.

The unit has the cine camera lense placed into it and at 90 degrees has the video camera lense placed into it.

I think its then just a case of playing on the cine and recording on the digital camera?!?!?!?!

Not sure of the quality though, but I'm sure they sell something like that in Jessops.

    Hope this helps?
    Stace :D
