Choosing speakers for gaming/movies

Standard Member
Hello guys,

I've been reading these forums for some time now but today I decided to make an account because I need some help with choosing some audio equipment for my new apartment.

I'm a gaming geek - I have a PS3 and a Wii (and tons more consoles from previous generations) and I want to get something that gives me good sound for both gaming and movies. I currently have a Creative GD580 set but I guess that's not good enough for me anymore. That's why last month I bought an Yamaha RX-V567 receiver and I'm currently looking for 5.1 speakers to go with it.

Can you please give me some advice on this subject? I'm currently looking at Yamaha, Tannoy and Onkyo but some friends told me that those are not the perfect choices when it comes to gaming and some of those brands (i.e. Tannoy) are better for music.

Thanks in advance.

Hehe, same problem here... Don't know what speakers to buy for my gaming/movies system.. Got an Onkyo TX-NR609 receiver already.. Also got many consoles...

I'd prefer floorstanders for front left and right, but my budget is limited...
