Many of you seem to be undecided whether to buy the Toshiba or one of the Pioneers. Most of the Video mags have the 520 being reviewed this month and they all give it 5 stars with glowing reports. I have had mine for a week and I am very pleased with it but unfortunately cannot compare it to others as this is my first one. The 420/520/720 are the same with the exception of HD size and DV in/out.
I can say that it is very user friendly and even the 6 hr mode is perfectly watchable for recording the Olympics etc. I have started copying my 8mm movies at LP mode (4hr) and have edited them in preparation for burning to DVD. All very easy and straightforward.
I paid £380 from Digital Point, excellent next day service.
