I wouldn't call this film a clissic but I would give it 7.5/10

It's not a direct sequel to Pitch Black but it does follow on some five years after those events.

It will be a film that will look and sound good on DVD, plenty of sharp edges to the costumes and Ships with bags of detail.

There's a easy to follow story line that keeps you awake and some decent acting as action/Vin Diesel flicks go.

I would put this film in the same bag as Pitch Black, Star Gate, and The Mummy but just not quite as good as The Fifth Element.

Worth a watch at the flicks.

I would say it was trying to be a new 'Dune'. Costumes, religeons, and even the names of the planets being displayed!

I thought it was watchable/enjoyable although Vin's 'ALL POWERFULL' 1 liners because he has that voice is getting tiresome.

I noticed this too, especially near the end when every one's gathered round for a spot of one on one. It was a scene straight from Dune when Paul fights Feyd.

It's si-fi action fodder but highly enjoyable fodder nonetheless. Really enjoyed it, probably cos I was not expecting much and it turned out to be a thoroughly entertaining action flick.

Vin D's hardly a great actor but he suits the film nonetheless.

Defo one for the DVD collection 8/10

didnt like this film. i think the problem is i wanted to like it because i liked pitch black so much. i was tempted by the visuals and the style of the necromungers looked good. vin deisel is as watchebale as ever just left me feeling dispaointed and i wished i had waited watched somthing else and rented it when it came out.

    5/10

I think the main problem with this film is the lack of a decent score. It just doesn't match the scale of the visuals.

This is what made Star Wars IV V and VI so good, they had very few weak links if you leave out the care bears, sorry, Ewokes.

    Hi,

Really enjoyed this, not seen anything on this scale in terms of sci-fi sets for a long time.

Yes, quite predictable, but enjoyable. Apart from the cgi dogs, the effects where good, and it will look and sound good at home. It will benefit from a second viewing. The beauty of 1st pitch black was most people did not know much about the film and saw it on dvd where it became a hit, where as this one was hyped and to some lost its appeal. 8/10.

I thought this was ok, almost a very good film. It all seemed a bit rushed towards the end and I thought that the links with the earlier film were unnecessary.

2.5 out of 5 for me.

BadAss, you say the Fifth Element is better then Riddick etc. If that's the case I would rather go ratting. I recently bought the Fifth Element SE on DVD as I had actually never seen it right through - it started off well, but further into the film, it just went downhill. Particularly when that black guy first appeared towards the end... he just made me wanna throw up - words cant describe the hatred, he just grinded on me. The film started off quite serious but just continued to get worse - in my opinion anyway.

I wouldnt compare this to the likes of Pitch Black, as they are different types of films.
