    Hi,

I'm looking for a 5.1 speaker set. The amp I'm going to use is either Denon 2805 or Jamo 793, not sure yet.

The speakers I'm looking needs to be fairly small as the room only is 4.5M x 3M,

My budget is a Max of £1500

    Had a look at the Jamo 700 ,B&W 600 series and B&W vm1

    Any suggestions ??

Beware B&W 600 series in a small room. They are bass-heavy speakers and can boom without enough space. :lesson:

That's true Nobber, but 4.5m x 5m should provide plenty of space for anything but their large floorstanders. :)

It's 4x3m isn't it? Anyway, it depends on what sort of sound you are after. If you want a warmer, more relaxing sound then KEF and Castle are good choices. Exciting, more up front and Tannoy, Ruark and Monitor Audio Silver are good.

    thanks for the quick feedback,
The system is going to be used for movies only.
So what I'm looking for is a good clear dialogue and a good full sound in action scenes.

AS the room is a dedicated HT room, design is not going to be a priority

I would take a look at the Mordaunt Short THX select package. The towers have built in subs and MS's house sound is erring on the clear "shiny" side of things. I think that you could get them for £1000 at Richer Sounds, otherwise they were £1500 for the set. Check here for a review.
I would also take a look at some Monitor Audio Silver (the 'S' range) speakers that may be on special at the moment as they have been superseded by a new 'RS' lineup. Even still, the Silvers are fantastic and a good Sub/Sat system using S1's and S2's could be made with a BK XLS200 sub (for example) for under your asking price. That last one is a bit convoluted, but worth it if you cannot get the MS package.
