Hi, I'm about to buy a NW-HD5, but I can't decide which color. I've searched the forum and found dozens of threads talking about colors, cracks and sonicstage, but I haven't seen any poll regarding which color most people like. I wan't either a red or a black. I think the red is sporty and the black is stylish. Which one do you prefer? Please vote to help me (I'm in so much doubt... ) :lease:
I'd also like to know if anyone have experienced other problems because of the color, than cracks?

    Black

    Best regards - Lariva

Btw I'm new here, so I just wanted to say hi to everybody.

Don't own a NW-HD5 at the moment, waiting for more info on NW-A3000 before deciding which to buy. If I go for the NW-HD5 it will be the BLACK unit.

Black for sure, it looks super-cool when the screen is set to inverted :) The black was the one that sold the unit to me, sadly Dixons didn't have any in stock, so I took the silver, because I was in love by then.

I'm actually going with silver and a wine-red Vaja case. Silver or black might give you the most color options with cases.

I just bought the red today :)
Wen't to see the real stuff, and I saw the black one. I didn't like it as much as on the pictures, so i decided to get a red. Can't wait till it arrives

You don't have to - it will arrive partially charged and li-ion batteries of today aren't like old mobile phone batteries - so give it a good charge, but it will only benefit you in that you will be able to listen to more music before you have to recharge it, it won't affect your battery otherwise :)

When you first get it its ideal to give the battery a few full cycles, that is, charge it fully then use it until it turns itself off before charging again. Then charge it again and fully discharge it again. Do it a couple of times then just charge whenever desired. Once a month or so give it a full discharge until it turns itself off again to calibrate the battery meter. Note, the battery will still last a long time once the bar starts flashing.
