They want their own OS for smartphones According to a Chinese Government white paper, Google has too much of a stranglehold on China's smartphone market via Android and the corporation is guilty of discrimination against local companies. The white paper was penned by the research arm of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and it also said China had the ability to create its own mobile operating system. With all that avaliable manpower, you'd certainly hope so. "Our country's mobile operating system research and development is too dependent on Android," the paper, posted online said. "While the Android system is open source, the core technology and technology roadmap is strictly controlled by Google." The paper said Google had delayed sharing code with Chinese companies which was holding them back. Google had also used commercial agreements to restrain the business development of mobile devices of these companies, it added. No comment, as yet, has been posted by Google.
