I'm after some advice which I hope someone will be able to help with.

Does anyone have a screen above, or in the general vicinity of, a fireplace containing a wood burning stove ?

I ask as I'm currently refurbishing the house and a retractable screen mounted in the ceiling would be great, but my concern is the heat and thermals.

Any advice wolud be great. Thanks in advance

I believe the screen movement would be minimised by the use of a tensioned screen, and I'm hoping that the smoke will go up the chimney as opposed to the wall. :)
I was just wondering if anyone had ever considered such a location and/or had any experience of one.
    Cheers

My parents used to have a wood burning stove, and it is surprising how much smoke does escape into the room. I would be very wary of positioning a screen above/in the vicinity of a stove.

If you have kids anything above a fireplace is always a big NO NO, that's why in thre fireservice we advice NOT to put anything above the fireplace eg: mirrors etc.

I'm sure a screen would attract the kiddies too.
