Some people might think im a bit sad considering my age but i think that some of these childrens cartoons are absolutely hilarious. :D My girlfriend has been telling me for ages to watch a cartoon called Angry Beavers(she's sadder than me :D)and i finally got round to watching it last week(alright,i taped it and watched it later  ) Has anybody seen this cartoon? I thought it was excellent, best ive seen in a while.
I was thinking about some of the other childrens cartoons ive seen over the years. Animaniacs was good, particularly Good Feathers, about the 3 Mafia pigeons.
Oh well,i guess im just a big kid at heart :)

Yes they are all very good.I have fond memories of Willo The Wisp.:smashin: Ren and Stimpy and The Simpsons are brilliant but i would not class them as childrens cartoons,i think they are aimed at a more mature audience, like South Park and Duckman(very funny).
I was meaning the cartoons that are specifically aimed at children. The people who make these cartoons are very talented:clap: Have you noticed how many times when watching a childrens cartoon you see or hear something of a more adult nature that would not be picked up on by a childs mind? Going back to Willo The Wisp, was that not the campest cartoon youve ever seen? Sheer brilliance. :smashin:

Count Duckula - More from the Dangermouse stable I believe.

Samurai Jack - if you are a martial arts/samurai fan you HAVE to watch this, the best use of split screen, slowdown samurai cartoon action ever! It has plenty of references to Lone Wolf etc. The best cartoon at the moment.

Dragonball Z - Takes a bit of getting used to, but is a lot of fun.

Gundam Wing - More complex than a paper on dynamic quantum nuclear physics, but the robot fights more than make up for it.

Much more a Japanese Cartoon fan than American.

    HI,

For cartoons, I'd recommend any of the following:

    "Sylvester And Tweety Pie"

"Road Runner / Wile E Coyote"

    "Tiny Toons Adventures"

"Thundercats" (Sword of Omens, give me sight beyond sight!) :rotfl:

    "Jayce And The Wheeled Warriors"

    "Ulysses 31"

    "The Mysterious Cities Of Gold"

    "Pole Position"

    "Willo The Wisp"

"Rhubarb" (Which is due to be repeated very soon by Channel 5! Hurrah!)

"The Simpsons" (Okay some of the new episodes are a bit cack, but on the whole a great show.)

With regards to "Roger Ramjet", if you look in the Kids DVD section, at your local HMV store, there is a "best of..." Roger Ramjet DVD available, for about £6. May be worth a look!

    >"Sylvester And Tweety Pie"
Never been a big SandTP fan to be honest.

    >"Road Runner / Wile E Coyote"
Oh yes... I have a (sadly now somewhat motheared) 'genius' wile coyote t shirt.

    >"Tiny Toons Adventures"
    'We're tiny, we're toony, we're a little loony..'
*ahem* sorry, I'll take my medicine now.

    >"Thundercats" (Sword of Omens, give me sight beyond
*laugh*. In retrospect I dont think it'll have stood the test of time.

    >"Jayce And The Wheeled Warriors"
    Not seen

    >"Ulysses 31"
Now that /was/ a good series, and ended well too.

    >"The Mysterious Cities Of Gold"
Ditto, although it went on for way way way way way too long.

    >"Pole Position"
    I'd almost forgotten about that.

    >"Willo The Wisp"
    >"Rhubarb"
    >"The Simpsons"
and of course all the above are good.

Hmm. suppose I'd better throw a few more in:

Scooby Doo (yes, I liked it, so sue me :) )
    Wacky Races

Surprised no-one's mentioned 'Courage the Cowardly Dog'. Absolute class. Favourite episode parodies Quentin Tarantino with a zombie character called Benton Tarantella.

Agree with others about Pingu. Love that penguin.

Because T & J are no comparison when lined up against Jamie and The Magic Torch or Chorlton and The Wheelies.

Two of my Faves as a kid

OMG! I nearly forgot the saggy old catpuss...... :nono: can't forget Bagpuss!:smashin:

Chorlton & The Wheelies and Bagpuss are not cartoons. They're stop-motion animation.

    Tom & Jerry rule! :D

Yeah Jamie's cool, so was Mr Benn and his time travelling adventures. But not as cool as Tom & Jerry. Also love Roadrunner - "meep, meep"

Going back to Chorlton and Bagpuss - "The Flumps" are my favourite of that type of thing. Loved them as a kid and they still make me laugh  I even have the DVD with all the episodes  :D

with very few exceptions, the longer a cartoon runs for the worse it gets. Scooby Doo would be a prime example of this. The minute Scrappy Doo was introduced the whole thing went downhill rapidly.:thumbsdow
I am still curious to find out if anybody has seen Angry Beavers?
It is about 2 beavers called Norbert and Daggett. I have only seen 2 episodes but i thought it was hilarious.:D

Visionaries (at least that is what I think, that I half remember what they were called  ) and Pinky and the Brain. Last but not least in the stop motion section The Treacle People.
