Checking network card speed

Hey,

I'm thinking of getting 50meg virgin media (currently on 20meg) but not sure if my network cards will actually be able to handle 50meg speeds.

I have 3 computers in my house:
• 5 year old dual 1ghz G4 PowerMac
• 3 year old 1.5ghz powerbook g4 laptop
• 2 year old 1.7ghz powerbook g4 laptop

Anyone know how to find out what speeds the network cards support?

Thanks
Mark

I don't think you have to worry because the speed of your network card is independant from the speed of your broadband.

Your cable modem from Virgin is handling the speed of your broadband, not the network card in your Mac.

Your network cards in the Macs are dealing with communicating across the network.

I hope that makes sense? If i'm wrong then someone please correct me :smashin:

But if my modem/router is sending data at 50mbps and my network card cant handle these speeds i wont be able to get the full speeds? I.e if my network card can only handle speeds of 34mbps
