We're about to be charged a whooping £83.50 a month due to what seems like a cock up from the card pairing problems (no real surprise to me) I was having when I first had Sky HD installed for a review (worrying eh). I held back from checking whether a mess had been caused billing wise during the installation as I wanted to review the service from a customer point of view, as I usually love Sky!

So what does my £83.50 a month amount to - well I have just Sky HD downstairs and Sky + upstairs, so surely that is £63.50, god knows how they have come to such a large amount.

All I can think of is that they have my account marked up as having around 4 boxes in the house! Shame I'm told they can't sort it out right away, they are happy to send out letters stating when money will come out of a our accounts though.

The letter itself even states its charging us for the Sky+ subscription, even though that should be free (we pay for all channels).

I had a letter today, stating i'd pay £73.50 a month and i have the same setup as you do!! I rang them and I swear nobody at their end knows what the hell is going on with the bills. I got the letter about not being billed in July etc and would be doubled billed in August, ive rang them twice to confirm my credits and stuff and was happy, then they send this letter and everything is changed, when i rang them they had no idea of the previous letters etc. I told them in no uncertain terms that if its not sorted soon and i want the right payments in writing then i shall hold them in breach of contract and tell them to shove their boxes, its really peeing me off and sky really are abunch of :censored: :censored: :censored:

Got a letter this morning (22 Jul) saying that they will be collecting £128.50 at the start of next month to cover all my HD subscriptions to date.

Need to check my past bank statements to see what i've paid already, but not happy that Sky are gonna take such a big chunk of dough in one go. (and I still haven't received my fifty pounds for introducing a friend even though I've replied to the email they sent).

Will call them to find out what the crack is on both of these fronts but will no doubt just get my blood pressure up and my bank account down.

Got mine too saying £72.50pm - seems if they sent you a new viewing card for HD then they counted that as a new sub ...

I had 2 sky+ boxes before but retired one when the HD was installed but didn't tell sky as I naively thought that relocating the boxes and forcing a callback would show that I only had two *live* subs ... apparently not - their system shows the box I removed on 22 May is still live !!

So mine was made up of £42.50 basic sub + £10 HD sub + £10 multiroom + £10 multiroom (for a box that wasn't even plugged in !!)

Anyway have dropped Sports and they've corrected the box problem so down to £56 pm now :)

Same issue here. Got a letter saying I owed them a whopping £167.30 and that my "normal" payments of £82.50 would "resume" from next month! Oh yes with an extra £1 added in September!!

Bearing in mind I got a letter last month saying the billing run had messed up and that I could enjoy a free month's Sky, I've now been invoiced for the whole lot. On top of that it seems the billing mechanism thinks I have as many as 3 viewing cards (I have two). I've been billed about £40 dating back to May for an "extra subscription" I don't even have!

Rang Sky, they told me it didn't look right at all (No S**t Sherlock!) and have passed it to the billing department to sort out. In the meantime I have cancelled my DD and told them that on the 28th I'll be calling to make a debit card payment of £62.50 plus £11.75 for the Box Office stuff I've had. Thats what I reckon I owe and thats all they're gonna get...

Yep i got a letter for £66. then another for £128. wtf sky need to get there act together !!

Mine is really wierd. £46 per month.. first payment of £85.78. I really haven't been able to work out how they came up with that.

Best I can come up with is £46*2.. but that doesn't make any sense since I don't have my £10 off for them screwing up the billing last month, and there's a £6.22 discrepancy.

Another way of looking at it is £46*2-10, but then there's still a £3.78 discrpepancy.

I'm not even sure if they counted 2* boxoffice movies in that either... if they have tried then they're even further out. I either calculate £99.50 or £89.50 depending on the discount.

However I cut it I can't get their figure... it's like playing countdown..

If you had your install sometime in June (which is the month they didn't charge you for) they are charging you for all of July and that proportion of June for which you had SKY HD. This is why its not exactly two months worth.

i too got a letter for £95 when i normally pay £55...spoke to a nice lady about 2 weeks ago who apologised and confirmed that there was a mistake on sky's part due to a new billing system blah..blah...blah and don't worry.....so guess what...sky took £95 out of my account today...spoke to customer services who are refusing to refund it and insist that it stays on my account on a credit...told the nice lady politely that was not on and asked to speak to the supervisor that just told her i couldn't have my refund and guess what...has just left her post but will ring me back as soon as she can...i will have the last laugh though as i instructed my bank to claw the money back throught the direct debit guarantee scheme which will refund you any payments that are taken from your account via direct debit by mistake....moral og this story is watch your bank accounts closely chaps

Nope, installed May 22nd. Already paid for the first month (I think.. the disaster that is sky billing might not have actually done that..)

Hence why I cancelled my DD - actually on Sky's advice.

I'll pay em via debit card this month, but ONLY what I reckon I owe them. They won't be getting £167.30 out of me thats for sure.

Just got home to find another letter from sky. This time it's a full statement detailing all of what they say I owe them.

I've been through it and it actually seems to be correct :suicide:

It includes a whole load of SBO and Prem Plus stuff that I hadn't yet been billed for.

I would rather receive monthly statements so that I can always have a breakdown of my viewing. Does anyone know if sky charge for paper statements?

Our billing farce may be similar and I dont get the sums either.

We were installed 23 May and paid £52.50 in June. This was correct - I thought - including the £10 HD discount as Sky told us by letter this was not going to be applied until July due to their cock ups.

The letter I got on Saturday (resulting in me spending two hours on hold to the useless CS people) told me my August bill is £110 and something, but made no reference to the fact it was a double DD as they had decided not to take out the July payment. Had their letter bothered to explain this I would not have worried or called. But they told me that the June £52 was for the old pre HD payment. Those who had Sky before were charged as they did not have time to cancel it (only three weeks!) So the August payment is for the £62.50 for July and August minus all the discounts plus any difference between the old and new billing dates.

As £110 sounds more or less right to me given an extra £20 discount outstanding, I am not arguing. But I have no idea how to calculate it exactly other than the above details Sky gave to me.

Got that letter today... there was me hoping it was going to be a cheao month

My first bill since having HD was £99 as I had SkyHD for part of a month. My future payments should all be £83.50

Sky HD + Full channel package £53.50
Sky + Multiroom £10
Sky multiroom £10
Sky multiroom £10

A lot of money to watch TV isnt it.. hehe

I'd love to know how they calculate these bills. I've just got a letter saying they are taking £153.15 in early August after taking nothing since the start of May.

At a bare minimum £52.50 x 3 months is £157.50 without including the numerous Box Office movies I have watched since then.

If I'd have known they would mess the bill up I'd have got a bit of porn watched too;)

Sky have overcharged me by not taking any of the discounts off my bill coming from their delayed install :thumbsdow

I'll be on the phone to Sky in the next few days probably with countless others :(

You guys must be crazy paying them sort of monthly charges..No wonder sky is minted :rotfl: i have seen h/def and it is better but at the end of the day just about everything broadcast.. movies especially has been viewed well before sky broadcast it.You get nothing new for your money...a lot of money !

Premiership, coca cola championship, champions league, ryder cup, robbie williams live in concert, bbc hd films, sky box office ... worth the monthly fee to me.

how come you guys get a monthly statement??

I rarely get anything unless I watch SBO movies

Is this because I pay by DD or something?

we pay by DD, but because we have a new service (HD or multiroom or whatever) you get sent an update bill to say what your new monthly charge will be.

I got three this month! They only appear to have taken the money once though.
