Had 2 copies now, both skipped during playback during the last 30-40 mins. Very light skipping, like a layer change each time it did it, but damn annoying.

I've given up and gotten a refund. Shame really as I loved the movie :(

Not sure if it was a bad batch or a player incompatibility (would be the first one I've ever had if it is indeed the latter).

    Anyone else had problems?

EDIT - Have now found out that the problem is widespread, so check your disk if you've got one sitting there unwatched!!

Have had reports in from elsewhere. People are experiencing similar problems to those I reported above on various players.

Have also heard that one HK supplier has stopped taking anymore orders on this disk due to the high number of returns.

    Check your disks asap!

CDwow, have the orther people who have confirmed the problem got the same manufacturer of Plyer as you. It may be a problemwith just sonys for instance. Both of my players have been chipped and have the macrovision disabled. If you are using a "handset hack" that could be causing a problem?

Just throwing a few ideas in the air to hopefully solve the problem.

    Hello, I have a theory.

I bought my copy late Feb, when dddhouse had it on sale. It plays fine with no problems whatsoever on my Sony 770.

I suspect that since Leslie Cheung killed himself, and given the circumstances, there has been renewed interest in this particular title, it has been re-pressed, and the repressing has been bodged.

Yeah, it could be. Certainly not all the disks are affected, and certainly on not all players.

This is feeling very similar to the problems that we all had with Drive R2 last year.
