My front speakers - Mordaunt-Short 20i pearls, have finally given up the ghost-I'd like to buy a replacement pair as this is one of the best speakers I have ever bought in the 18 years or so that I'v been dabbling in Hi Fi and Home Cinema but this model was discontinued some time ago-can anyone recommend a really good pair of standard speakers for around £100 or the best floorstander I can get for under £200?

I got a set of Mission M74's for £250 and they sound superb. So I reckon you won't go far wrong with a set of M73's - IMHO.

My recommendation, too. Excellent budget speakers with good bass.

Reiner and 'the Torch' - following your advice , I went and bought a pair of Tannoy Mx3 speakers.
Hooked it up and promptly tested it with 'the Matrix' - my opinion - jeez , what a little firecracker! nice , clinical sound with a bit of warmth but a little bit light on the bass - good job I'm using it in conjunction with my subwoofer.A worthy successor to my late lamented ms20i.
